I have read genforum postings on the David Badgley descendants in St. Clair County, Illinois, and believe my Lucretia Badgley (b. abt.1848, St. Clair Co.)to be a part of this extended family. I am trying to confirm Lucretia's parents. Here is what I know:

1) 1870 Census for Washington Co, IL lists Lucretia (age 22) as wife in household of John Dunhausen (age 40) along with 2 children Phillip (age 2) and Charles (age 1). Charles Dunhausen is my husband's ggrandfather.

2) 1860 Census for Ashley,Washington Co., IL lists Lucretia "Bagley" (age 12) and her sister (assumed) Eliza "Bagley" (age 9) and possible brother Geo. W. (age 7) in the household of Jesse (age 48) and B.S. (age 39) Axley and their 4 children.

3) 1850 Census shows Jesse (37) and B.H.S. (30) Axley residing in Ridge, St. Clair, IL . Lucretia does not appear in this household, but a Samantha (age 4) and Billington R. (age 20 - insane) do. (Per LDS, Samantha and Billington were children of Isaac Badgley and Unity Ann Taylor, Isaac being the son of Aaron Badgley and Catherine Stroud. Aaron was the son of David Badgley and Rhoda Valentine.) In addition 9 of the next 12 1850 census record listings are for Badgley families.

4) Jesse Axley and Bathaland S. Badgley married on 12 Aug 1840 St. Clair Co, IL (Illinois Marriage Index 1763-1900).

Does anyone have any information which would clarify the relationship between Bathland S. Badgley and Lucretia Badgley and her assumed siblings listed in 1860 census?

Do you have any information regarding the parentage of any of these individuals?
