MRS. ELIZABETH PENROSE CHANDLEY

Mrs. Elizabeth Penrose Chandley, 73 died Monday in a local hospital. For the past five weeks she had been visiting with a sister, Mrs. Nelson Wehrhan of 2509 West Grandview, University Place, Mrs. Chandley was born in Linn county, Ia., and for 20 years taught school in Council Bluffs, Ia. In 1944 she moved to California in charge of government nursery schools at Manhattan beach and early this year moved to Juneau, Alaska. She was a member of the Presbyterian church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Harold Guttormsen of Juneau; her sister in Tacoma; one brother, H. J. Penrose of Shellsburg, Ia., and two grandchildren. Private funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 in the Buckley-King Funeral church. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
