Thanks again, Carol.
While I was searching the Hudson Bay Company's website I came across some info for Catherine Tawakon, Andre St Martin's wife. Her father was Thomas Tawakon or Tewateon. He was one of the many part-Iroquois or full-blooded Iroquois still in the Columbia region despite Gov. Simpson's 1825 order expelling them to eastern Canada. Also, in the Ft Vanxouver and Stellamaris registers, they are also listed. However, I have not studied these books yet so am still waiting to verify much of these details.
As for Amelia Thurston, wife of Eli St Martin, in the 1880 US Census, it lists Amelia's father as William. She was born in NY abt 1874. The census was taken in Greig, Lewis, New York. The Census lists Father's birthplace as England and Mother's birthplace as NY. William's wife's name Philomenia (fa born in Canada, mo in NY. Again these are not verified.
As I am new and just getting started I haven't sent for any cert. and would appreciate any suggestions on where best to spend my limited resources. Thanks again. Zella
