Peninsula Daily News (Port Angeles, WA) - Friday, January 11, 2002 June 3, 1911 -- Dec. 20, 2001 Charles W. Pickering, entrepreneur, contractor, and independent investor, passed away on Dec. 20, 2001, in Sequim, Wash. Mr. Pickering was born June 3, 1911 in St. Louis, Mo. He spent his early years in Dallas and later moved to Los Angeles. He was associated with Hydro Speed Equipment Co., Peralta Electric Co., and Inglewood Printing and Stationary. Mr. Pickering was also a building contractor in San Marino, Calif. Mr. Pickering moved to Sequim, Wash., in 1980, where he and his wife owned and operated the Dungeness Bay Motel for 10 years. Mr. Pickering is survived by his loving wife, Doris, and three children, Judy Frewing of La Canada Flintridge, Calif.; Donald Pickering of Bellevue, Wash.; and Charles Pickering Jr. of Seattle, Wash.; four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
