Through the Census we found that Ruth Ann Rutan Fruits lived in her brothers (William Rutan)home from 1900 to 1940.

She started using her maiden name Rutan again in 1910. So we assumed that she got a divorce between 1900-1910 She never remarried.

William Jason Fruits returned back to IN, where he was born and married twice.

No,we don't think that Mom (Ruby) thought that George and Elizabeth Reeder were her parents. But there again we really don't know. But by age 19 she knew Elsie and George Reeder were her parents when she married.

I can't imagine what she must of felt like living with grandparents while her Mom had married in 1903 and then having other children and raising them. How sad it must have been for her. But she never spoke of it other than her mother was Elsie and she was raised by George Reeder and Elizabeth.

Also my husband Charlie said they (their children)were not allowed to ask their Mom or Dad Fruits questions about their relatives. They were basically told to shut up it's none of your business. I found this to be strange too! Why would parents not want their children to know their own relatives?

This whole picture does not add up to me. There are secrets here within these families that are hidden very deep.

It's going to take a great miracle to be able to find them.

Thanks Jan
