Franklin Edward Colbert of Nova Scotia/DC/TX?
Posted by: Sheila Colbert (ID *****8100) Date: April 16, 2012 at 16:38:12

I am hoping someone can help me. I am looking for my grandfather Franklin Edward Colbert. He married my grandmother Lavaun Helen Cole of Grayson Co Va in 1936 in Prince George Co. They Lived in District of columbia. And had 1 son my Father Franklin Edward Colbert JR.
Their marriage certificate says he was born in 1908 in Nova Scotia, But the 1940 census lists him as being 38 at his last birthday, born in Nova Scotia was Naturalized and living in Forth Worth in 1935. I know he worked at the Washington Post as per what "little" information we were able to gleen from my grandmother and family. And the 1940 census confirms this. I know he had at least 1 brother, because my grandmother mentioned this only once.
She wouldn't speak of him..
If anyone can help me as to where to look or point me in some direction...
I can not find this man on any census record.
Thank you
