Deceased Name: Irving F. Bayley
Irving F. Bayley, 85, of Oroville, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.

He was born and grew up in Spokane. He moved to Tonasket in 1951, where he owned and operated Irv's Body Shop for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Bayley, of the home; seven children, Irving W. Bayley of Spokane, Marcus P. Bayley of Arlington, Steve W. Bayley of Oroville, Alan L. Jack of Las Vegas, Nev., Daniel D. Jack of Bloomington, Calif., and Janet Burton and Lois Torres, both of Longview; a brother, Leonard M. Bayley of Chattaroy; and a sister, Bernadine Hanson of Spokane.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Tonasket Cemetery, Pastor John Jenkins officiating. Arrangements are by Bergh Funeral Service, Oroville and Tonasket.

Deceased Name: Irving F. Bayley
Irving F. Bayley, age 85, of Oroville, died on Friday, Nov. 3, 2000, at the Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.

He was born Jan. 29, 1915, in Spokane to parents, W.M. and Nellie Bayley. Irv was raised and lived in Spokane until moving his family to Tonasket in 1951. He married Ruth Kilber and she later preceded him in death. Irv owned and operated "Irv's" Body Shop in Tonasket for many years and had numerous friends and customers from the surrounding area.

In 1959, he married Gladys Jack in Tonasket. Irv loved RVing and camping and had made many trips to Westport for salmon fishing. After retiring in 1985, he enjoyed gardening, fishing and traveling as well as family get-togethers.

Irving is survived by his wife Gladys, at home; seven children, Irving W. Bayley of Spokane, Marcus P. Bayley of Arlington, Steve W. Bayley of Oroville, Alan L. Jack of Las Vegas, NV, Daniel D. Jack of Bloomington, CA, Janet Burton and Lois Torres, both of Longview; brother, Leonard M. Bayley of Chattaroy; sister, Bernadine Hanson of Spokane; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

His parents, three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000, at

11 a.m. at the Tonasket Cemetery with Pastor John Jenkins, officiating.

Bergh Funeral Service, Oroville/Tonasket is in care of the arrangements.

BAYLEY, Leonard Moran, Sr.

Len Bayley went home to be with our Lord Jesus on March 6, 2009. He was born November 6, 1920 in Spokane, WA to Marcus and Nellie Bayley. A lifelong resident of the Spokane area, Len graduated from North Central High School in 1938. In 1940 Len went to work for Western Electric and worked for them until 1944 when he joined the US Navy. After serving aboard an LST in the Pacific, he left the Navy in 1946 and returned to Western Electric where he became a supervisor. He retired in 1974. He met his wife Marie Foster in Yakima, WA and they were married in 1943 at her parents' home in Seattle, WA. They moved back to Spokane in 1946 and made their permanent home here. Len and Marie enjoyed family vacations and bought a cabin at Priest Lake, ID where they spent fun filled summers.

After retirement, Len and Marie farmed at Chattaroy, WA, raising beef and alfalfa hay. They also enjoyed traveling in their RV and spent many happy times with friends and family in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Arizona, and Canadian RV parks. Len's health started deteriorating and in 2003 they moved into Fairwood Retirement Center where they met many more wonderful friends.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents Marcus Lester and Nellie Irene Bayley; brothers Marcus, Glen, Harold and Irving; sisters Mildred Holmes and Irene Hilgers. Leonard is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Marie; children Carol Gillespie and husband Maynard, Leonard Bayley, Jr. and wife, Annie, and Barbara Jackson and husband Steve, all of Chattaroy, WA. Leonard is also survived by grandchildren Ellie Gillespie-Miller (Carl), Andy Gillespie (Heidi), Matt Bayley (Keri), Sara Bayley Dreher (Tony), Christy Jackson Clark (Shawn) and Davy Jackson (Kika) ; great grandchildren Tia Gillespie, Andrew Miller, Ben Gillespie, Haydon (Jack) Gillespie, Jonathan Bayley, Jordan Bayley, Carissa Jordan, Quinlan Jordan, Ava Dreher, Alyssa Clark, Courtlynn Clark, Bethanny Clark, Kylie Jackson and Caleb Jackson; and step great-grandchildren Dorian Miller and Preston Perez.. Len is also survived by his sister Bernadine Hanson, sister-in-law Wilma Bayley and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services honoring Mr. Bayley will be at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, March 14, 2009 at the Cattaroy Community Church in Chattaroy, WA.

Deceased Name: Leonard M. Bayley Sr., 88
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. March 14 at the Chattaroy Community Church followed by a reception in the church hall for former Chattaroy resident Leonard M. Bayley, 88, who died on March 6.

Born Nov. 6, 1920, to the late Marcus and Nellie Bayley in Spokane, he graduated from North Central High School in 1938. He worked at Western Electric from 1940-44.

He enlisted in the Navy in 1944 and served aboard an LST in the Pacific during World War II. After his discharge in 1946, he returned to Western Electric and worked there until his retirement in 1974.

He met his future wife, Marie Foster, in Yakima and the couple were married in her parent's home in Seattle in 1943. They made their home in Spokane in 1946 and spent many summers at their cabin at Priest Lake.

After his retirement, Mr. Bayley moved to Chattaroy, where he raised beef and alfalfa hay.

He and his wife enjoyed traveling in their recreational vehicle throughout Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Arizona and Canada.

Ill health forced Mr. Bayley to move to Fairwood Retirement Center in Spokane in 2003.

Four brothers, Marcus, Glen, Harold and Irving; and two sisters, Mildred Holmes and Irene Hilgers, all predeceased him.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marie, at the Spokane home; three children, Carol Gillespie, Leonard Bayley Jr., and Barbara Jackson, all of Chattaroy; one sister, Bernadine Hanson; six grandchildren; 14 greatgrandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Lauer Funeral Home, Deer Park, will be in charge of arrangements.

The family requests memorials be made to Hospice of Spokane, P. O. Box 2215, Spokane, WA 99210.
