Subtract his age from 1919 unless you are sure he was born in the month of January. The information in the 1920 census is supposed to be based on how things were in January.

That census does provide a year of immigration, which may not be exactly correct but at least provides a general idea of when he left. If he left Norway by 1910, the 1910 census should also provide an age and country of birth and year of immigration.

Your original message said Paul was Swedish but the new information says he was Norwegian. He probably didn't leave from Sweden if he was Norwegian. I only have access to Swedish databases.

Maybe you could ask for help on the Norway forum. Type Norway into the "Jump to Forum" space at the top right of this page.

I have found much information on my Swedes using Swedish American church records and newspapers. Try Norwegian American church records and newspapers and maybe you will also be lucky.

Judy
