According to the "Olympia City and Thurston and Mason County Directory of 1915-1916"--

Shelton, Mason County, Washington:

Kneeland John M (Marie), livery ($1,076)
Kneeland Robert I, tmstr, r J M Kneeland

I take this to read that Robert I was residing with John M. and Marie Kneeland (parents?) who ran a livery. No key is given for occupations, but perhaps Robert was a teamster? That would fit with a livery.
