Hi Wanda, I did some preliminary research first and you probably know that Modessia was Charles' second wife but if not see 1910 Census.

I'd say they sold or moved off the land before 1920 because by then he was living with his second wife Modessia and children in the David precinct, Spokane Co., WA.

In 1930 he was living with his mother Martha in Spokane, Spokane Co. and was divorced.

All land transactions must be recorded with either the Assessor or Auditor of the county. Lincoln Co. Courthouse is located in Davenport, WA. Assessor is 509-725-7011 and auditor is 509-725-4971. They can provide more details about how to get copy of sale document.

If you're interested in the original land purchases, they could have been under the Homestead Act(s) and look at the Bureau of Land Management website for that info.

There are other resources at rootsweb.com, choose Washington state, choose Lincoln county. Good Luck!
