Columbian, The (Vancouver, WA) - September 11, 2002 Deceased Name: Billy M. Harris Former 25-year resident of Vancouver, Billy Mack Harris, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2002, in Olympia. He was 70. Mr. Harris was a retired port manager for Toyota Motor Co. His wife, Norma T., died in 1996. He was born April 4, 1932, in Clinton, Ark. He lived in Vancouver 25 years before moving to Chehalis five years ago. Survivors include one daughter, Rebecca A. Harris of Salem, Ore.; three sons, John M. of Vancouver, Robert E. of Monroe, Wash., and Carl F.T. of Chehalis; three sisters, Ida R. Jones of Pottsville, Ark., and Ruth Hiser and Katherine Braaten, both of Long Beach, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Harris was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Chehalis. A funeral will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at Vancouver Funeral Chapel, followed by burial in St. John Lutheran Cemetery. The casket will be open from noon to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Doernbecher Children's Hospital, 3181 Sam Jackson Park Road, Portland, OR 97201-3098.
