Thank you for the advice. I had a number of very helpful responses to this query, and I followed up on all of them.

The cemetery people were great. I received all the information they could find, free of charge, since they didn't have much on the burial of Albert Hawley.

The best indication is that Albert worked for the railroad, and left his family in California, when he moved to Washington state. This research was done on behalf of his grandson, and the details of Albert's death are rather obscure.

But at least we believe we have found where he was buried.
