I wish you a great deal of luck in your search. You are looking for answers, not necessarily people. The next time you are in Seattle on a week day, be sure to visit the Seattle Room of the Seattle Public Library and check the city directories for the addresses where your persons of interest lived. Find out who the neighbors were. There is a possibility that with some diligence and a lot of sleuthing you will be able to find some of your birth parents' former neighbors. Find out what the nearest churches to the primary residence were. If the church has been there since the 1940s, for example Prospect Congregational on Seattle's Capitol Hill or Bethany Presbyterian on Queen Anne Hill, there may be some information to help you in the church records. What line of work was your birth father in? If he had military service, it is possible the children had to be surrendered for adoption because of death of the mother and deployment of the father (this was, after all, World War Two). Been there, done that, it's worth the search. Notify Administrator about this message?
