Mr. and Mrs. Quimby were best friends with my great-grandparents Bethel and Norman Frazier. They lived across the street from each other on Harrison until the I-5 freeway took their both their homes when it was built in 1960-61.I can remember going to their house when I was a child, and the beautiful garden with gladious that they had there. Mr. and Mrs. Quimby used to come over to my great-grandparents house every Saturday night to watch Laurence Welk.Grandma and Mrs. Quimby would work on craft projects (braided rugs, crocheting, etc.) while the menfolk watched the show.My great-grandfather died in 1962, and with Mr. Quimby's passing in 1963, Mrs. Quimby and my great-grandmother became even closer friends. They would go to the senior center in Everett several times a week and still get together on Saturday nights. My great grandmother passed away in 1985 at the age of 96, and unfortunately, I lost track of Mrs. Quimby after that.
