1951-09-08 Seattle Daily Times:
PFC Doyle E. Smith “Graveside services for Army Pfc. Doyle E. Smith, 18, of 1206 Eastlake Av., who was killed in action September 22, 1950, in Korea, will be held at 1 o’clock Monday in Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Washelli. A native of Bellmont, Ill. Private Smith came to Seattle in 1942. He enlisted in the Army in March 1949 and let for Korea July 1, 1950. He served with the Medical Aid Unit. 5th Cavalry Division. Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. William E. Baun; two half-sisters, Joyce and Elizabeth Baun, and a half-brother, William Baun, all of Seattle.”
