You have found the mother lode. I descend from the uncle for whom he was named: James Baker Washington Haynes, though it seems that James dropped the W.

I'll begin with two small census records for you, but can take you back with his family to the early 17th century in Virginia. I myself have just "found" this particular line & it is coming at me in waves.

I hadn't even got round to posting in Genforum for the family that went to Washington, Oregon, etc.
