My name is Joy Eastes Pero,

I have been researching my Grandmother's cousin Nathaniel D. McKillip. You said you would like individual entries, so I thought I'd send you my discoveries. He disappeared from Tippecanoe, Tippecanoe, Indiana about 1890. Until recently I didn't know what became of him.
His parents were John McKillip and Nancy Rogers. My great-grandfather James McKillip was John McKillip's brother. John was born in Fayette County, Ohio in 1827, and Nancy was born in Virginia in 1834. There is a biography on John found in Biographical Record and Portrait Album of Tippecanoe County, Indiana, pp. 497-498 Lewis Publishing Company, Chicago, Illinois, 1888. It also mentions John's parents, siblings, and son. Nathaniel was of Scotts/Irish descent. He was born April 5, 1855 in Indiana. He was a school teacher and later a mail clerk between Lafayette, Indiana, and Bloomington, Illinois.

Until I found Nathaniel in Washington, I didn't even know he was married, much less left Indiana. What I am still looking for is where Nathaniel and his wife Lou A. Unknown are buried, and when Nathaniel died. He died between 1920 and 1930 and his widow was still in Montesano in 1930, so he is likely buried near there. His wife Lou died in Aberdeen. She might be buried near her husband or perhaps in Aberdeen. They never had any children that I can discover. I only have an estimate on their marriage based on census information. Clearly the ages on the census are inaccurate.

McKillip, Nancy Mother, W, F, Sept. 1834, 65, W, 54, 4, 1, Virginia, Virginia, Virginia

Nathaniel's mother, Nancy is buried near her husband John McKillip and infant daughter in Pretty Prairie Cemetery, Tippecanoe, Tippecanoe, Indiana. She died in 1909. The three children that died were all girls Caroline, who was Nathaniel's twin, Margaret, and Joella.
