Debbie, I'm researching this family, too. Alvie was the son of Frances (Jackson) Whittle and Austin Whittle. Austin's name appears as Alton in the 1850 Pope County Arkansas Census but he's really Austin. He and his siblings moved with their extended family to Cowlitz County and appear on the 1860 census there. Also 1870 and 1880 then I lose track of them. Alvie shows up in the 1930 San Diego California Census with his sister, Clara Schlotthauer and his niece. His mother, Frances died in San Diego in 1922 and is in the 1920 Censu. I have Alvie's siblings and other info as well as far as I've gotten. I'd like to exchange any information. Kim
