My great grandfather was Benjamin Thomas Haley. He had a brother, William Henry Haley and a stepbrother, Harry R McCoy, who figures prominently in our family history. Harry was born August 26, 1886 in Harrison County Missouri, moved to Griswold Kansas abt 1888, mother died in 1891, was in SW Oklahoma by 1900, moved to Oregon about 1912. There were a few more moves before he settled in Cowlitz County about 1930. He was a sign painter. I have that he died January 20th 1959 and is buried in Longview Cemetery. I have checked Death Indexes for that time period and cannot find record of him. I have searched Washington, Oregon and California. My sister and I did some research and found that Harry's father was Francis Marion McCoy (our step g g grandfather) and Jane Pomfret. Pomfret was actually the name of Jane's first husband---her maiden name was actually Shafer, and was from Ohio. I am curious as to where Harry actually died, the various places he lived and when he was there and any stories anyone might have of him. I have a picture of someone I believe was Francis Marion McCoy but none of Harry. If this family sounds familiar, please contact me. Lori Notify Administrator about this message?
