Jimmie A. Vernon
Jimmie Arthur Vernon 48, of 628 S. Toutle Road, died of cancer June 29, 1985 in a local hospital.
Mr. Vernon was a carpenter. He was born July 12, 1936 in Kelso, and returned to the local area from Minnesota a week ago.
He is survived by two daughters, Leslie Hartley of Arizona and Serry Shoemaker of Braham, Minn.; two sons, Jimmy Vernon, address not available, and Kenny Vernon, stationed with the Army in Germany; two stepsons, Steve Hartley and Larry Hartley, both of Arizona; his parents, Mabel Soper of Tacna, Ariz., and James Vernon of Flagstaff, Ariz., two sisters, Dorothy Hill of Toutle and Edith Doughterty of Missouri Valley, Iowa; a stepsister, Thyra Sundberg of Longview; a brother Richard Vernon of Kelso; a stepbrother, Norman Wicks of Oregon; and four grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Steele Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Dwayne Wheat officiating.
Interment will be at Whittle-Hubbard Cemetery, Castle Rock.
Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home until 8 this evening and from 9 a.m. to time of service Tuesday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
