Maggie,
Sorry, William GIBSON is not listed in the Vermont Roster for the War of 1812-14.
There are 8 GIBSON soldiers listed: Abel, Abel Jr., James, John, Jr. of Enosburgh, Sergt. Oliver + Barbara with widow pension, Riah or Rial, Samuel, and Thomas with pension certificate.

Have you checked or had checked the New York [NY] Roster for the War of 1812-14?

Please enclose $3.00 for War of 1812 payroll cards and veterans' claims (post-1859)
sending the soldier's name to be searched and if know, branch of service, military rank [commissioned officer, non-commissioned officer, enlisted man/woman, unknown], military unit, other data, etc. with your request to
New York State Archives Cultural Education Center Room 11A36
Albany, NY 12230

Good luck & happy searching.
Volunteer, J.
