I checked out the 1850 census also and must correct one thing that Thomas posted. Olive is shown as born in VT, not MA.

also, the 1850 census images are free at www.familysearch.org along with many other databases. Let me know if you aren't familiar with navigating the new databases at that site and I will help you.

I was wondering if you think Olive's maiden name might be a misspelling of Wright? There are no Writ or Writt families on the VT census.
