I'd love to find a RECORD of some sort that would connect those dots (either to THOMAS III or to RICHARD) with some degree of assurance.I don't want to spend much time back-tracking any further on either lineage or following their branches forward without being fairly certain I'm on the right trail ...
RICHARD's lineage seems to better fit the notation in our Jenner family Bible that Samuel (Sr.) was born on the passage to America and his father died on that passage. It seems conceivable to me that any official records of the day would place the official (legal) place of a birth or death occuring at sea in their country of origin and nationality, rather than their intended, but never reached, destination. So, if Richard died and Samuel Sr. was born at sea, then it seems plausible to me that official records would show "England" as the place of occurrence.
If only we had the ship's logs, huh?
