Seeking origins and information on the family of James & Amelia Thomson of Fairfax. They appear in town records from 1794 when James took the Freeman's oath and Amelia had a son. In 1800, James and Amelia had 5 sons and 1 daughter (Sarah) 10 and under. Since the family appears to have come to Fairfax about 1794 and 4 sons and 1 daughter were born to them there by 1800, their eldest two sons must have been born elsewhere. Births appear in the town records until 1805 but they are not on the 1810 census there. Their daughter Sarah married a man from Bakersfield/Fletcher area so they must have remained - or returned - to the area. While all records I have found are under the spelling Thomson, it may have also been Thompson, Tompson, Tomson, etc.
