Ok Holly,

I took it one step further and looked William up in NY.
On the 1900 Ticonderoga, NY census it lists the following:

William Porter was born Dec. 1868 and was a Day Laborer. He owned his own property.
His Wife "Minnie" L. was born Dec. 1869, and it listed her parents as both being born in NY. (So in the last response it looked like the Father in Law John Barnes was born in Vermont but apparently that was misread due to the poor record.

The children listed at the time of this census were:
Lucy M. born April 1894
Earle F. born June 1897 (so the 1910 census I thought it was a P. for the middle name but it turned out to be an F.)

Cheers,
Glenn
