Hi,
Thank your for your continued help.It was interesting reading, but, with locations and timelines, I don't think it matches the Cyrus Mills I am researching (Orena's father).According to the info you gave on the census, they had at least 4-5 children born from VT>New York>Ohio. There is no wife mentioned from the 1850 census to 1870.Also, according to the census, they are in Ohio for all those years. If Susan Tolman Mills was the mother, being born in 1825, she would have been about 7 at the birth of Oliver, the oldest child mentioned in the census. The census matches closer with what I got from Orena's death record. If you notice in the 1840 census males 30-39=1, Cyrus would have been about 35.Then notice the females 20-29, this could have been his wife, Orena's mother, possibly born bet 1811-1820. She would have been at least 12 when Oliver was born, more likely older, and closer to Cyrus' age.If that is her, she probably died between the 1840-1850 census, maybe during childbirth, which was more common back then. It's all speculation of course.I did google "Cyrus Mills", came up with a bunch of sites.Could be a distant relative . . .
Thanks,
Chris
