From THE POULTNEY [VT] JOURNAL, APRIL 12, 1895: WELLS. LOCALS. -Miss Edith Jackson of Pittsford is visiting at P. White's. ** -Wesley Rowe visited his sister, Mrs. G. W. Race, at Raceville, last week. ** -Cottage prayer-meeting last week at Will Hicks', this week at E.R. Pember's. ** -Frank Barden of East Poultney spent Sunday with friends here. ** -The sugar season is at its height here now, and the makers are rushed to care for their sap. ** -E. Sheffield, who spent the winter at G. H. Burton's, has returned to his home in Hebron. ** -Harvey Covey has moved into the tenant house on the Parks' estate, known as the 'Winchell place.' ** -Jay Hicks had a relapse last week. A little child of Will Hicks is also under the doctor's care. The whole family of C. Johnson has been sick. S. Ballard is very sick with pneumonia. Dr. Kinney of Middletown attends him.
