Hi Lois,
Have you checked out Joshua HARRINGTON, of Clarendon, Rutland County, VT, who is listed in THE WAR OF 1812-14 as a possible relative of John Harrington?

He volunteered to go to Plattsburgh [NY], September, 1814, and served 4 days in Capt. Durham Sprague's Company, as a teamster. Ref: Book 52, AGO Page 128.

STATE OF VERMONT ROSTER OF SOLDIERS IN THE WAR OF 1812-14, Prepared and published under the direction of Herbert T. Johnson, The Adjutant General, 1933, page 202.

This soldier was not my ancestor.
