I may have a connection to the Mary Nugent McCarty from Windgap, Co Kilkenny. My great grandmother was Catherine Nugent who was baptised in the catholic parish of Windgap in 1832. She was the second of seven children of Martin Nugent and Mary Morrissey who were baptised in that parish between 1829 and 1842. The Oldest child was Mary, born Dec 1829.

Surnames of sponsors for the parents wedding and the baptisms include: Aylward, Hayden, Power, Shunny, Nugent, Dunphy, Jackman, Carroll, Kieff, Hoynes, and Laurnece.

Catherine ended up in LaSalle, IL where she married Michael Mullooly.
