Thank you very much for the information. I had already found it. I am searching for information about their father's father. I feel Laban Norton Matteson's mother was a Norton. But can not prove it. Albert Norton Matteson is named for his father and Oscar Johnson Matteson is named for his maternal grandfather. John King Matteson their brotaher is named for his own great grandfather. The other brothe is Andrew Laban Mattenson named for his father.

So my problem is in a family that named the children for some family member: Where did the names Oscar, Albert, Laban, Andrew and John come from?? They had two sisters Rhoda Clamena Matteson died at age 4 and Martha A. Matteson died at 13. Rhoda is a maternal grandmother name. Where did the other names came from?? If you know anyone that can help please let me know.
