Searching for information on Henry Manning (married to Polly Babcock). Henry was supposedly born about 1782 in Dutchess County, NY. Son of Joshua Manning. He died in Franklin County, New York.

I am searching for the names of Henry and Polly's children. I strongly suspect that Henry and Polly were the grandparents to my great, great grandmother also named "Polly".

My great, gread grandmother was "Polly" Manning. Supposedly born about 1829. She was born in Canada. I don't know where in Canada. She died in 1891 and is buried in Saranac Lake, Franklin County, New York. I am having a very hard time finding any information on my Polly (b. abt 1829). The only reason I believe she was born about that time is because of census that I've seen her on and her tombstone. I've written to the cemetery assoc. where she is buried and they graciously researched but responded that they could find nothing. The town clerk in S.L. also responded, very graciously, to me but again, there are no records of her. It's been said that she was native american (I don't know if "full" or "part").

"Polly" named her children names that are not on the husbands side so I suspect possibly they may have been family names for her - however, they may have just been something they chose to be unique (going again tradition). The children's names: Aldric (Aldrack, etc.), Cleveland (BEFORE Grover Cleveland was president), Vertner, Eliza Adelaide, and Adelbert.

All help is appreciated. Thank you.
