Hi Karen,

Your best bet for info on Maple Grove would be to contact the Bakersfield Town Clerk and find out who maintains the records of burials there. The Town Clerk is listed as Katherine Westcom, Town of Bakersfield, PO Box 203 Bakersfield, VT 05441. Their hours are listed as Mon-Fri 9-12. Telephone is 802-827-4495 (hopefully all still current).

As for Jonathan, the best bet there would be to contact the town he died in. I think you mentioned he was buried in Fairfax, but I think I read that he died in Cambridge. Contact the Town Clerks in those towns to locate his death record. Hopefully the death record will specify the location of his burial (but don't be surprised if it didnt as some towns used forms that did not list the info at certain time periods). The Fairfax Town Clerk is listed as: Deborah Woodward PO Box 27 Fairfax, VT 05454 Tel: 802-849-6111 Hours: Mon 9-4 & 6-8; Tue-Fri 9-4. The Cambridge Town Clerk is listed as: Jane N. Porter PO Box 127 Jeffersonville, VT 05464 Tel: 802-644-2251 Hours: Mon-Fri 8-4. If they do not have the info, then perhaps they can point you in the right direction.

I hope this helps!
Maggie
