GOODSIL B. PETERS (1817-1886)Fairfield & Bakersfield , Franklin Co., VT

Goodsil/Goodsel B. Peters born 6 Jun, 1817 and died 20 Dec, 1886, according to grave marker at Bakersfield Cemetery, Franklin Co., Vt (NEHGR Register, vol 75, pps 19 and 21 "Cemetery Inscriptions Bakersfield VT". He is easily picked up on 1850/60/70/80 censuses in Franklin County VT. He resided at Fairfield 1850/60/70, and was at Bakersfield by 1880 census. Based upon the above records, he married first Lucinda--- (born 1817 oer 1859 census), and they had Linus E. and George W. Peters. Lucinda died between 1850 and 1860 censuses (prob at Fairfield VT), for Goodsil is married in 1860 to Mary (she is stated to be Mary Jane Robinson), and the following children are given, though unknown which children are born to which mother: Cyrus (aged 14), Walter (12), Rosina (born 1852, married David Robinson of Bakersfield VT, and she died 9 Jun, 1897, Bakersfield VT), and Lucinda (3)(same name as Goodsill's wife on 1850 census. Notice on the 1860 census the missing little boys (Linus and George) named on 1850 census, who would only be 14 and 13 respectively in 1860..perhaps they died with their mother Lucinda between 1850 and 1860? On 1870 census Goodsel Peters is still in Fairfield VT, wife is Mary J(ane), and children at home are Eva O. Peters, Nellie J., and Augusta (she one month old). By 1880, the family has moved to Bakersfield, Franklin Co, VT, where Goodsell Peters (62) is with wife Mary J. (33), children Eva (19), Nelly (12), Augusta (10), Gertie (7), Willie (5), and Abbie (2). As stated earlier, Goodsil B. Peters died Bakersfield VT 20 Dec, 1886...does this reing any bells? A name like Goodsil/Goodsell Peters should be easy to find, but, except for info above, I see nothing on him. Hope this info is helpful to others, and thanks for any help....Bruce.
