Diane, Thank you for the suggestion. This was suggested about 2 yrs ago and not considered as family names included Austin, Dudley, Amos, Erastus, Eli and William. All Anglo names. William lists on federal census forms that his parents were Scots-Irish. My grandfather, when he was alive, claimed the same. However, two forms report William's parents from LC (lower Canada?) or 1870 federal form - born "Canada". I will check these Quebec records. Do you have other suggested towns besides Marieville and St. Cesaire? - Bill
