Hi Bill,
Do you know what cultural background your Root family had? The reason I'm asking is my Gggrandmother was buried in Swanton Catholic Cemetery as Katherine Root. Her name was actually Catherine Routet, born about 1829 in St. Cesaire Quebec.(her siblings were born from 1808-29) If your Root has a french background, you might want to check the records around Marieville, St. Cesaire etc. in Canada
