The Grand List is the tax list which is written into the Town Records of each town in VT. You can order these microfilmed records through your local Family History Library.

The 1808 Grand List of St. Albans shows the following names and the amount of tax:

Adam Beals, $199.00
Enoch Beals, $199.25
William Beals, $6.50

Adam and Enoch must have owned a lot of acreage since these tax amounts were high compared to other landowners in 1808.
