The correct spelling is most likely "gosselin". This is an old St. Johnsbury name, but I don't remember much about them building a church. If they had contributed to the church, it would have been Notre Dame de Victoire. The Gosselin family lived on the same short street as the church, but they were not in the same income bracket as someone that would have built that great gothic church.
