Sergt. David Curtis served in the Revolutionary War under Col Seth Warner's Regiment. My ancestor, Mary Ann Curtis, was David's sister. I became interested in "Sergt." David Curtis' service record and thus contacted the David Library of the American Revolution. Among the copies they sent to me, was a page from "Soldiers, Sailors, and Patriots of the Revolutionary War - Vermont by Fisher, who found records for the following: Curtis, David, Green Mt. Boys; Col Alen's regt 1776. Curtis, David, Sgt. Vermont, resident Arlington; Captain Smith's Company 1778.(Did he spend the rest of his life at Arlington, VT? Curtis, David, Vermont, resident of Pownal, Capt Noble's Company. Now if there were others, these are the only ones the Fishers found from Vermont. One of the copies received from the David Library notes that Sergt. David Curtis of Col. Set Warner's Regiment was taken Prisoner July 15th, 1779. However, we do not think this is the David Curtis from our family tree, because our David died single and without issue, and his youngest half brother was given given the name of David Curtis on June 10, 1779. So which David was taken prisioner? MaryLu in Minnesota Notify Administrator about this message?
