Elnathan Darling

Looking for the parents of Elnathan Darling whose daughter
Lucretia Darling married Roswell Rowley in March of 1825 in Salisbury, VT. Elnathan Darling, accroding to census information, was born in CT ca 1781. Apparently, he moved with parents to VT or by himself as a young man. He married Susanna "Susan" Wheelock d/o Eleazer Wheelock & Thankful (Maynard) Wheelock of Rutland, VT. I have not
found a marriage record in Rutland; however, feel they were married in either Salisbury or Rutland.
Elnathan Darling, I believe, may have had some business dealings with Eleazer Wheelock of Rutland---think he had a
livery service. Eleazer Wheelock is well documented in Rutland's history with regard to owning a Hotel...the
Eleazer Wheelock Hotel (later the Brock House) and was
a post rider among other pursuits.
Elnathan was a member of the Masonic Center Lodge in Rutland. He was widowered in 1818 when Susana Wheelock Darling died. A few years later he remarried and moved to
Perkins Township, Erie County, Ohio where he died ca 1870.
There is a land transaction with an Abel Darling in 1804, where Abel sold a tract of land to Elnathan.
My question? Could Abel Darling be the father of Elnathan
Darling? Who are the parents of Elnathan Darling?
If anyone has any idea I would greatly appreciate any
information. Please contact me at
