Does anyone have a connection to this Murray family? If so, I would very much like to hear from you.
Joseph Murray married Hannah Pattison, April 16, 1724. Children:
Elizabeth, born Jan. 24, 1725; James, b. May 19, 1727; John, b. July 2, 1729; Mary, b. Oct. 2, 1731; Elisha, b. March 19, 1734; Hannah, b. July 27, 1736; Ruba, b. March 12, 1739; Parthena, b. June 7, 1741; Joseph Jr., b. Feb. 27, 1744, d. Jan. 18, 1816; Philemon, b. Aug. 2, 1746; Eunice, b. July 16, 1749.
Joseph Murray, Jr. married Isabella Burritt. Children: Andrew, b. Aug. 8, 1770, d. March 18, 1853; Lucy, b. Feb. 8, 1772; John N., b. Nov. 5, 1773; Sally, b. May 28, 1775; Harriet, b. Dec. 2, 1776; Anna, b. May 19, 1778; Betsy, b. May 18, 1786.
I am trying to prove that my gggrandfather, John N. Murray, is the son of Joseph Murray, Jr. and Isabella Burritt.
Andrew Murray, son of Joseph Jr., married Polly Bartlett, daughter of
Ichabod Bartlett and Azuba Norton. They married on Dec. 13, 1801 and lived in Addison, VT.
My gggrandparents have been my brick wall for many years. John N. Murray, born May 8, 1804 in Vermont (prob Addison County) married Margery Wright, born Feb. 21, 1810 and they had the following children: Andrew b. 1845, Betsey b. 1844, George b. 1838, Harriet b. 1842, Joseph b. 1839, Lucy b. 1850 , Anna b 1854
The names of John and Margery’s children are remarkably similar to the children names listed above for Joseph Murray, Jr. and Isabella Burritt. Uncanny really. Has anyone seen this kind of name recreation before?
