I have information I can share with you. Unfortunately all I have on Samuel Day is that he was born in Addison County, VT; Married: First wife Maria Spencer. The 2 children I know of are: (1) Mary Ann Day born abt. 1816 in Addison County, VT. She married Harley Elam Hayes 19 DEC 1837 in Carrolton, Greene County, IL. She died 1862 in Jersey County, IL. (2) Lydia A. Day born 02 OCT 1822 in Vergennes, VT. She married Charles Robley 18 NOV 1899 in Greene County, IL. She died 29 DEC 1899 at her home on the Eldred farm, Bluffdale, Greene County, IL. Maria Spencer died before 07 FEB 1827 in VT.
Samuel Day married his 2nd wife Emeritta Hayes 07 FEB 1827 in Addison, VT. She was born 14 AUG 1806 in VT. She died 16 NOV 1899 in Virden, Macoupin County, IL. Her father was Elam Hayes and her mother was Rachel Knickerbocker. Samuel and Emeritta had 2 children: (1) Ira T. Day born 04 SEP 1830 in VT. He died 02 MAY 1908 in Virden, Macoupin, IL. He married lst wife Frances Purdy 03 JUN 1860 in Macoupin County, IL. His second wife Catherine McGee he married 26 APR 1866 in Jersey County, IL. (2) Charlotte D. Day born abt. 1837 in IL. She married Henry J. Freeman 05 JAN 1853 in Jersey County, IL.
