John Vreeland's ancestors?

I have run into some big questions about the "John Vreeland" group through reading some of the postings here in the Vreeland family forum. But first let me give you a run-down of my husband's tree as I have it so far: My husband Mark is one of 6 Vreelands born to Charles E. and Leta M. Vreeland. Charles was born May 14, 1927 in Montesano, WA, dying May 15, 2007 in Albuquerque, NM. He was the son of William Roy Vreeland, born in Stillwater, OK, Sept. 25, 1895, dying Feb. 3, 1989 in Hagerman, Idaho. William Roy was the son of Charles Albert Vreeland, (1856 - 1933). Charles Albert was the son of John Vreeland and Alvira E. Sheldon.

My question is, does anyone know by now (several years after many of the postings here) who John Vreeland's parents were? And has it been verified by now that this John was really John III, as indicated in another posting on Genforum (by Dean Sinclair)? If so, how does John I relate to and descend from the other Vreelands in the U.S. I've heard for many years now from my Vreeland in-laws that the family descends from the original first Vreelands in the U.S. -- back to when New Amsterdam was a Dutch colony -- but I have no solid proof of that -- just the verbal statements.

If anyone has any further information regarding this particular line, please share this. I would be most appreciative, and can share our family's line with you as well. Thanks so much in advance!
