Viles/Voiles/Voyles in Indiana
After reading all the other messages I know I am very close.I am a descendant of a John Viles who was living in Newton Co. Missouri in 1860.His wife was Violet(last name unknown) and they had the following kids: Malinda, Malvina, Abel, Elizabeth, Margaret, and Hannah. Both John and Violet were born in Indiana. In the 1850 Misouri census John was under the name Voiles. In the 1850 census John was 32 so that would put his birthdate around 1818.Violet would have been born around 1825.The names of the children, I now see, are quite prominent in the tradition of the Voiles (Voyles) family of the Washington Co. Indiana area.Loking at marriage records, a John Voyles married a Violet Davis in Wash. Co. in 1849, but according to the census my John Voiles (Voyles) would have already been in Missouri (his eldest daughter, Malinda was supposedly born in 1843 in Missouri).I know I'm close, can anyone push me across the finish line?
