While I am interested in the Virtue controversy (Aren't English and early American records interesting?) I have an even more interesting controversy. I have information saying that Virtue's granddaughter Mary Reeder found a Samuel Painter from somewhere and took him to Norfolk where they lived for another hundred years before returning to America in 1860. Is there any Reeder or Vowles records to prove or disprove this. God bless you.
