Just started researching the Votaw side of my family and was very excited to find your message. My grandfather was William Alfred Votaw who married Pearl Evelyn Ball in Oklahoma.
I loved to listen to Grandpa talk about his early life but unfortunately, I never had the foresite to write any of it down. All I could remember was him saying his father left Missouri after the Civil War and married his mother. Think he said it was his father's second family. I knew he grew up in Texas - around Austin maybe. He used to talk about a brother Charlie and a niece Jenny.
