John, do you by chance know if Joseph Voss Sr. had any daughters? I am looking for a Mary Voss who married James Jay in 1765 in Orange County, NC. The only information we have for her is that she died in 1795 in Person County, NC. She and James had 10 children.
We descend through her daughter, Mary Jay, who married John Calvin Caddell in 1794 in Person County. Daughter, Mary Jay, was born in 1776 in North Carolina and died about 1855 in Cherokee County, Alabama. Their son, Andrew Caddell, came to Texas and fought in the Texas Revolution.
We have only one note about Joseph Voss. He was listed in the Orange County, NC Census in 1755. I am operating from a book my mother had privately printed in 1986. She did most of the research herself, but one of her kissing cousins sent her the note about Joseph. She put it in the book with her own note stating that "this needs work". I have been slowly putting the book into my FTM and am just now getting to the Voss family. We have an extensive tree on the Jay family and I would like to fill in a blank.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
