In Reply to: Re: NEED HELP with Texas VOSS.. lived San Antonio TX 1967 wife named Freda Voss by Judy Brown of 935

Thanks so much for your reply and Claud Rufus Voss would be a good start for me. I see so many things in your research that I see a parrallel to in mine ... location of Navarro Co TX, names like Meador... etc... Also I see that your Rufus Voss was a carpenter; my Freda Schmitt's grandfather was also a carpenter in SA, Bexar Co TX.

But I wanted to pass this by you:
You said that there was a daughter to Rufus E. Voss named Nina that signed his death certificate. You also said his wife Sarah Charlotte did not die until 1933 and she was buried Johnson Co., TX

Have you looked at the 1910 Bexar Co TX census? There is a:
1910 Bexar Co TX census:
VOSS, R.E., age 63, married 2nd time for 7 yrs., born IL Nina, wife, age 27, married 1 time for her, she was born TX father born Ms and mother born Indian Territory. It shows R.E. Voss and Nina had no children.

Then in Bosque Co TX:
1910 Bosque Co TX census:
VOSS, Mrs. Lottie; head/household; 53; divorced; 6 children born 5 living; TX LA TN; farmer; owned farm
Clinton Y.; son; 22; single; TX NC TX
Thomas E.; son; 19; single; TX
George E.; son; 17; s; TX
Lottie M.; dau; 14; TX

On the 1900 Bosque Co TX census:
VOSS, R.E.; b. Jan 1852, age 48, married 22 yrs, b.NC
S.C.; wife; Feb 1857; age 43; 6 children born 5 living; b.TX father b.AL mother b.AR
Maud; dau; Jan 1879; 21; s; TX
C.Y.; son; Dec 1887; 12; TX
T.J.; son; Nov 1890; 9; TX
J.E.; son; Mar 1893; 7; TX
L.M.; dau; Sep 1895; 4; TX

So it would appear that Rufus Voss divorced his wife and left Bosque County, TX for Bexar Co TX... and remarried a woman named Nina..

But I don't see a Claud Rufus Voss anywhere on these. Are you saying a Claud Rufus Voss signed the death certificate?

These could be some of the children's info:
Voss, Clinton Y.;born Dec 14, 1887 died 08-24-1967; Cleburne, Johnson Co., TX; Male; single.

VOSS, Thomas; born Nov 4, 1890 died Jan 1970 in Cleburne, Johnson Co., TX. Longtime or retired railroad worker.

This MIGHT be the correct George Voss because of the 1893/1894 birthdate from the census:
VOSS, George; b.Mar 20, 1893 died Aug 1977 Kerrville, Kerr Co., TX...

BUT... I can not find a Claud Rufus Voss...

These locations of Johnson Co., TX would explain why Lottie Voss was buried Johnson Co., TX.

Just thought you would want this information.
