Hi Brian, my husband's greatgrandfather was William VOSE b. 1831 in St. Helens. He moved on to Pendleton, Lancashire and the family stayed in the Manchester area. Any connection you can think of? It sounds like he could have been a 'cousin'? to your Thomas, that's assuming that all St. Helens Voses are connected! Sorry we don't know anything more about origins near or far, but are always curious to learn more. Good luck, nancy
