im looking for information about my GGG Grandfather, and his first wife, Elizabeth .he left Heilbronn germany in the early 1850's.
family legend goes that he was attacked by two men in the streets of Heilbronn, and killed on of them. he could of been running from the law when he got on the boat with his family. he had to let a friend take his wife, Elizabeth and their two children aboard the ship. when the ship was to far to turn back, he came out of hidding .
they landed in baltimore, maryland, where they had to burry the baby.
william served during the civil war in the army. he hurt himself during gunning drills.he died from these injuries in 1890. the volz family reunion is usually around sept 12, which is his birthday.he was born in 1825.
i know alot about william, but dont know much about elizabeth. i would like to find her maiden name, and i have a theory that its Zeigle, because my great great grandfather's middle name is zeigle. i would very appreciate it if you tell me more about these two.
