Are the Vollers in England of English or Alsacian background? Was their name originally spelled Voller with an umlaut over the o? There have been Vollers who came to America from very early times ... but to my knowledge they were of German & Alsacian roots, not English. Therefore, I wonder if the Vollers in England may have came there from France, possibly after Prussia got control of Alsace and many people began to leave there for other parts of France and to other countries. I know of at least one REEB family who left Selestat, Bas-Rhin, France and moved to Paris then on to southern England. Could this be true of the Vollers in England also? If it is, do you know anything of the first Vollers in England, for example what was their first names, birth years etc.? John V. Reeb ([email protected])
